One of my biggest takeaways from doing case studies for the Urban League’s “State of Black Oregon 2015” is that we have to connect Black stories in rural parts of the state to the metro area. The Blacktastic Adventure gives me the opportunity to do that directly. Recently, I spoke with Precious Edmonds and Keith Jenkins of Southern Oregon Black Leaders Activists and Community Coalition, or SOBLACC, about their work as an organization, moving to Oregon and finding Black joy in the region.
